At The Lodge Provision, we offer bespoke 1:1 Alternative Provision for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our personalised programmes provide flexible, tailored support for learners who may be struggling to engage in mainstream education, or who require additional input to thrive.

Each learner is supported by experienced staff who focus on re-engagement, personal development, and emotional wellbeing in a nurturing, non-judgemental environment.

Each learner follows a bespoke plan designed around their needs, interests, and aspirations. Plans are created in partnership with referrers, parents/carers, and professionals, with clear targets and measurable outcomes.​

Therapeutic Activities and Wellbeing Support

 

We integrate therapeutic activities into our provision to support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and promote self-esteem.

Activities include:

        •       Mindfulness, breathing, and grounding exercises

        •       Therapeutic art and creative expression

        •       Gentle animal care to promote calm and responsibility

        •       Emotional literacy work using visuals, objects, or nature-based prompts

 

Academic and Life Skills Focus

Where appropriate, sessions incorporate literacy, numeracy, and project-based learning, adapted to each learner’s pace. We also build practical life skills to support long-term independence.

 

Regular Progress Tracking and Reporting

​

We provide termly written reports and ongoing communication with schools and referrers, ensuring transparency, accountability, and evidence of progress.

At The Lodge Provision, we provide Small Group Alternative Provision (AP) for children and young people , who need a different approach to learning and engagement.

 

Our small group sessions are ideal for schools looking for bespoke, therapeutic, outdoor, and practical learning experiences for pupils who benefit from alternative environments, smaller groups, and a nurturing approach.

 

We offer tailored group programmes for schools, providing alternative education experiences that engage learners in practical, hands-on activities.

Every group placement is planned in partnership with the referring school, with individual learner needs and group dynamics considered. Activities are fully adaptable to individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) or pastoral support goals.

At The Lodge Provision, we provide meaningful, structured daytime care for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our Social Day Care offer is designed to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where individuals can build friendships, learn new skills, and grow in confidence.

 

We specialise in working with children and young people who benefit from 1 - 1 or small group settings, personalised attention, and carefully planned activities that support emotional wellbeing and social development.

OWL

SPECIALIST ADULTHOOD PROGRAMME

OWLs is our specialist Preparing for Adulthood programme for young people with SEND, designed to support the transition from adolescence to independent adult life.

 

Through outdoor, creative, and practical learning, OWLs helps learners develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills — all at their own pace, in a supportive and nurturing environment.

 

Working Towards Preparing for Adulthood Outcomes

 

Our OWLs pathway supports progress in the four key Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) outcomes, as recognised by Kent County Council (KCC):

 

1. Employment / Meaningful Activity

​

        •       Developing practical skills for volunteering, supported work, or community projects

        •       Gaining AQA Unit Award Scheme accreditation in skills like horticulture, animal care, woodwork, and outdoor learning

        •       Building confidence in teamwork, communication, and problem-solving

 

2. Independent Living

​

        •       Life skills such as cooking, budgeting, travel training, and personal care

        •       Encouraging learners to set personal goals and make independent choices

        •       Supporting practical steps towards greater independence

 

3. Community Inclusion

        •       Engaging in local community projects and outdoor group activities

        •       Building social skills and confidence in real-world settings

        •       Helping learners develop a sense of belonging and contribution

 

4. Health (including Emotional Wellbeing)

        •       Outdoor, nature-based wellbeing activities that support emotional regulation and positive mental health

        •       Promoting healthy routines, active lifestyles, and self-awareness

        •       Supporting learners to understand and manage their own health needs

 

AQA Accreditation
 
All OWLs learners have access to the AQA Unit Award Scheme, offering formal recognition of their achievements in practical, creative, and personal skills development

The Lodge Provision  runs a friendly and inclusive out of term time activities/ short break service during the school holidays for children and young people . Our out-of-term sessions are packed with engaging, hands-on activities designed to support wellbeing, confidence, and personal growth – while having lots of fun!

 

Whether you’re looking for structure, support, or simply a great day out, The Lodge is open to all and welcomes young people from a wide range of backgrounds and needs.
